The PGST door sensor inherits all the technology and expertise of the PGST group. This company has focused on innovation and the production of smart home components for many years.
This sensor is highly reliable and very simple to use.
It is perfectly suitable for all openings of your home (windows, doors, etc.).
This system is relatively easy to set up and use daily.
Immediately after connecting to the central unit, you will be informed if all your home’s openings are locked or not. Indeed, at each startup phase, all door and window sensors will be checked. If a door or window is already open when arming, you will be notified before completing the installation.
The sensors are only available in white.
PGST Door Sensor: Description
The PGST door sensor is excellent for protecting the doors and windows of your apartment, house, or building. The door sensor activates when a door or window is opened. The signal is sent to the central unit, which instantly triggers the sirens and sends phone communications to the programmed contacts.
The operation of this sensor is very simple. It relies solely on the breakage of a magnetic field when a protected door or window is opened. The sensor is powered by a battery with extremely low consumption.
For this reason, the sensor must be attached with one part on the moving side and the other part on the fixed side. It is also possible to protect a window sash or a single-opening frame by attaching one part of the sensor to the window or frame.
PGST Door Sensor: Function
The door or window sensor’s function is to detect the opening of a door or window and immediately inform the central unit of the event. When an opening is closed, the two sensors are close to each other (detector and magnet). When the door or window is opened, the detector moves away from the magnet, sending an opening signal to the alarm.
The PGST door or window sensor provides information about the remaining battery capacity to the central unit, allowing you to be notified when the battery is low and replace it easily to ensure continuous surveillance service.
There are many advantages to this type of detector. It perfectly adapts to the presence of animals. Moreover, at night, you won’t accidentally trigger these systems as you might with infrared motion sensors that constantly analyze all movements inside a room.
PGST Door Sensor: Installation
To prevent bypassing the system, the sensor must be positioned within the area to be monitored.
It should generally be placed at the top of the moving side. However, the choice is not very important. You can also install these detectors vertically or horizontally.
The detection unit is installed on the frame of the moving side, and the magnet part on the moving side itself. The magnet is generally lighter, less bulky, and because it doesn’t have embedded electronics, it withstands repeated opening and closing cycles better.
Designed ideally to be mounted with screws, this sensor can also be attached using a strong double-sided adhesive. Some installers regularly use these double-sided adhesive fixings to install sensors, but we recommend installing them by screwing into the frames of the openings to be protected.
PGST Door Sensor: Communication
This window sensor communicates via Wi-Fi with the alarm central unit. Therefore, there is no need to run wires between the sensor and the central unit. However, be careful not to install these sensors too far from the central unit. Preliminary placement tests help find the central unit’s optimal mounting point and ensure it can receive all signals from the door or window sensors you have positioned in your home.
